GA4 setup and Google Analytics consulting

Conversion tracking that shows what deserves more budget.

A technically active tag can still teach the wrong lesson. As your Google Analytics consultant, we diagnose and implement GA4, Google Tag Manager, consent, calls, forms and sales-feedback signals so reports distinguish activity from commercial progress.

Especially useful when paid media is active, sales questions reported leads or an important conversion setup has changed.

A verified measurement route moves from consent through collection and lead quality to an outcome the business can use.

A green tick is not the same as trustworthy data

Tracking can be technically active and commercially misleading.

The most expensive measurement problems are often quiet. Nothing crashes. The dashboard simply teaches the wrong lesson.

01

The same lead is counted twice.

A thank-you page, event and imported conversion can describe one action while the report treats them as separate progress.

Decision cost: performance looks stronger than reality.
02

Consent changes what platforms can observe.

Missing or inconsistent implementation creates unexplained gaps and weakens the signals used for optimisation.

Budget cost: incomplete data is treated as complete evidence.
03

Every form looks equally valuable.

The account sees a submission, but not whether sales accepted, rejected or closed it.

Team cost: marketing celebrates work that sales has to filter.
04

Reports disagree and meetings stall.

GA4, Google Ads, a CRM and a call platform use different scopes. Without a definition, every review starts by arguing about numbers.

Personal cost: uncertainty follows the team after the meeting.
What changes?

The goal is not to force every platform to show the same total. It is to know what each number means and which one should guide the next decision.

The connected measurement path

Every useful signal needs a definition, an owner and a verification path.

Select a stage below. You will see the point where trustworthy data becomes ambiguous—and what must be true before that signal guides spend.

Stage 01 · Consent

Can the signal be collected consistently?

Consent state defines what platforms may observe. We make that boundary visible before a tag is treated as evidence.

Useful outcomeA known observation boundary

A focused diagnosis can separate a reporting difference from a real measurement leak.

Practical measurement scope

The tools are connected around the decision—not around a longer tool list.

Existing signals are diagnosed before new tags are added. Each implementation ends with a plain-language record of what is measured, how it was tested and what remains outside view.

02

Google Tag Manager

A structured container with clear naming, triggers, variables, consent behaviour and test evidence.

03

Google Analytics 4

Relevant events, key events, channel settings, internal-traffic handling, product links and reporting checks.

04

Google Ads measurement

Conversion actions, enhanced conversions where appropriate, imported events and offline or qualified-lead signals where the sales process supports them.

05

Form and call measurement

Successful submissions and meaningful calls distinguished from button clicks or page views wherever the technology permits.

06

Consent implementation

Consent Mode and platform behaviour aligned with the implemented consent solution. Legal compliance remains the client’s responsibility and requires appropriate legal advice.

07

Verification record

A plain-language map of what is tracked, where it goes, how it was tested and what remains outside view.

Measure fewer things more clearly

Not every visible action deserves the same weight.

A useful measurement plan separates diagnostic behaviour from the outcomes that should influence budget.

01
Explain

Diagnostic signal

Scroll depth, content views or tool interactions can explain behaviour. They should not automatically become bidding goals.

02
Observe

Lead signal

A completed form or meaningful call shows an enquiry, but not its commercial quality.

03
Qualify

Qualified signal

Sales confirms that the enquiry fits the agreed criteria and deserves follow-up.

04
Optimise

Outcome signal

An opportunity or customer outcome gives the account a stronger view of value where the process and data volume support it.

A longer event list can hide weak definitions. Start with the decisions the business actually needs to make.

Make lead quality visible

See how trustworthy signals change the commercial picture.

This model makes the hidden gap between a recorded enquiry and an outcome-connected signal visible. It is not a forecast. It shows why verification and sales context matter before data guides budget.

A focused diagnosis can separate a platform difference from a real measurement failure.

Measurement without a black box

Map first. Implement second. Verify before trust.

The work follows the signal from the business definition to its destinations and back to the decision it supports.

01Define

Agree the decision

Agree the commercial actions, source of truth and limits of the current systems.

02Audit

Reproduce reality

Inspect the existing implementation and reproduce the paths users actually take.

03Build

Implement deliberately

Implement the agreed events, destinations, consent behaviour and naming structure.

04Test

Verify every handoff

Validate each handoff and record known differences between platforms.

05Use

Put the signal to work

Confirm which signals should guide reporting and advertising decisions.

What customers say

I’m Dennis Westphal. My background includes 9 years in online marketing, Ex Google Ads Support for the DACH market, and 150+ clients and projects.

For analytics work, that means I map the commercial action, inspect the implementation and explain the limits of the data before recommending more tracking. You get direct access, clear reasoning and an honest view of what deserves attention next. If a requirement falls outside my scope, I say so.

The goal is a system you can understand and decisions you can defend—not another supplier or dashboard that creates more work to coordinate.

Fitness check

This is likely a good fit if...

  • Paid media is active and reported lead quality is disputed.
  • The team needs to understand what each platform number actually means.
  • Sales can define a qualified enquiry and share outcome feedback.
  • You want a verified implementation—not more dashboard tiles.
Probably not a fit

If the goal is simply to collect more events.

If you only want more dashboard tiles without agreeing which decisions they support, this will add little value.

Analytics and tracking FAQ

Questions to settle before the numbers guide spend.

Clear definitions now prevent expensive reporting debates later.

Can you repair an existing GA4 and Google Tag Manager setup?

Yes. We first map what the business needs to measure, then inspect the current tags, triggers, events, consent behaviour, platform links and conversion settings. Useful parts are retained. Changes are made only where the definition, implementation or data flow needs correction.

Why do GA4 and Google Ads show different numbers?

The platforms use different attribution models, scopes, time settings and processing rules. Some difference is normal. The important work is to define which view answers each business question, then verify that both systems receive the intended events.

Do you implement Consent Mode?

We can implement the technical consent signals and test platform behaviour with the selected consent solution. The client remains responsible for obtaining legal advice and approving the consent language and policy for each market.

Can you track lead quality, not just form submissions?

Often, yes. The exact method depends on the CRM, lead process, identifiers, consent and data volume. We first define what qualified means, then design the safest practical route for returning that outcome to reporting or advertising platforms.

Will every platform report the same result afterwards?

No. A reliable setup does not force different platforms to produce an identical total. It makes the definitions, expected differences and intended decision use clear.
